Element Resources has reached the 50th anniversary of its recycling facility in Forest City, Missouri, celebrating five decades as a contributor to America’s lead battery cycle. Since opening in 1976, the plant has become a cornerstone of Holt County, employing about 100 people, supporting the community and contributing economic stability to Northwest Missouri.

The Forest City facility, recognized by the Chamber of Commerce and Missouri Western State University as Holt County’s largest employer, plays a vital role in sustaining the local workforce and economy. It provides stable, long-term jobs in its rural region, serving as an anchor for the community.

In a press release, Element Resources credits its workers for annually:

  1. Recycling 2 million batteries
  2. Processing 35,000 tons of lead for reuse
  3. Recycling 2.5 million pounds of plastic

The facility also recycles the minerals tin and antimony.
