A book showcasing Missouri’s geology has been updated.
State Geologist Carey Bridges says “Geologic Wonders & Curiosities of Missouri” is packed with pictures and facts about the state’s natural features.
"There were folks that have been out taking a lot of photos, traveling across the state from the top of Missouri's highest mountain to the bottom of Missouri's deepest sinkhole to capture all of the great geologic wonders that we're truly blessed to have in this state," Bridges says.
Bridges says it’s packed with interesting facts and amazing pictures.
"The book is going to feature over 1,000 photos and maps combined with the main body just under 600 pages. So it's going to be a great coffee table book for people to have," Bridges explains. "Including some chapters now about Missouri's caves, glades, springs, and even some meteor impact sites.
The $50 coffee table book can be ordered by emailing bethany.hawkins@dnr.mo.gov.
