Homicide: Woman shot in car in front of Kansas City home

KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri.

Just after 8:30p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 3600 block of E 73rd Street on a shooting call, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina. 

On arrival they were directed to a vehicle in front of a house there. Inside that vehicle officers located a citizen rendering aid to a woman shooting victim who was unresponsive.

Officers called for EMS and rendered additional aid, EMS responded and took over aid, eventually they declared the victim deceased here at the scene. 

Additional responding officers developed preliminary information regarding a potential suspect. Those officers were able to locate and detain a subject of interest for further investigation at a nearby location. 

 Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and suspect were at the location in front of the residence when they became involved in an interaction that escalated to gunfire which struck the victim.
