KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating Kansas City man on multiple allegations after a chase and crash in Cass County, Misssouri.
Just after 9p.m. August 6 deputies with the Cass County, Missouri Sheriff's Department's Criminal Apprehension Unit attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that wasn't displaying registration in the area of SW Outer Road and E. 327th Street in Harrisonville, according to a statement from the Cass County Sheriff.
A deputy activated his emergency lights in an attempt to conduct the stop, but the driver, later identified as 27-year-old Chandler Griffith of Kansas City, accelerated northbound.
Griffith eventually lost control of the vehicle and spun out near Horn Road on the north side of the roadway and continued in a field parallel to the road.
He drove east then southbound as the pursuit continued. A separate deputy eventually located the vehicle, which was empty, after it had crashed near SE Outer Road.
Deputies requested the Harrisonville Missouri Police Department’s K-9 Unit, who with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office UAV Unit, located Griffith. He was taken into custody with two active warrants: one warrant includes two felony charges from Barry County and the other warrant regards a misdemeanor from Platte County. Griffith is currently at the Cass County Jail with charges from this incident pending.
