Grant money announced by Missouri Congressman Sam Graves will provide $9 million to fund the Interstate 29 and Interstate 35 Corridor Project.

Graves, Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, says the $9,055,200 grant will fund engineering, public outreach, environmental analysis, and the final design of the U.S. Route 169 connection to I-29 and I-35.  The project will include preliminary engineering and NEPA clearance for two interchanges at I-29 and U.S. 169 and at I-29 and North Oak.

“The Interstate 29 and Interstate 35 Corridor Project is critical to the future of the Northland and greater North Missouri,” Graves said in a news release from his office. “This BUILD grant will help improve reliability, mobility, and safety on the Interstate 29/35 Corridor and will ensure these much-needed improvements get closer to construction."

"Congratulations to the Mid-America Regional Council and all the folks who continue to work towards moving this important project forward. I’m grateful to President Trump and Secretary Duffy for awarding this funding and working with me to improve our infrastructure in the Northland and across North Missouri.”

Graves previously secured a $640,000 BUILD planning grant for a Corridor Study of I-29/I-35 in 2020.
