The University of Missouri Extension office will again host the annual Women in Ag event, designed for women in agriculture, but open to everyone to attend.
The annual Atchison, Holt, and Nodaway Counties Women in Ag event will be held in Maryville, Missouri on Thursday, August 6th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm at the Rose Hill Acres Event Center located at 105 South Main Street. “Strong Women, Strong Farms, Strong Futures” is the theme of this year’s program, and the committee has lined up opportunities for participants to connect, learn, eat, and shop at the event.
Registration will be open from 4:30 to 5:45pm. Prior to the presentations at 5:45 pm., participants can shop at local entrepreneurs’ booths at the vendor fair, enjoy food from the Nodaway County Cattlemen’s Association and Dickie Henry, and bid on numerous items in the silent auction. Also at that time, partnering agencies who organized the program will give a brief welcome and share information on the services each provide. At 6:00pm, informative sessions will include a presentation by the mother and daughter team behind R+R goat milk soap, as well as FCS Financial, and a special recognition of a local woman involved in agriculture.
At the end of the evening, the silent auction will close, and door prizes and a grand prize will be awarded. The cost to attend the event is $5 per person which is payable at the door. The first 100 participants will receive a goody bag. Everyone is welcome to attend. Participants don’t have to be from Atchison, Holt, or Nodaway counties, nor do they have to be involved in agriculture.
