KCPD: Driver dies after high speed crash into a school bus

KANSAS CITY —One person died in an accident just before 3:30p.m. Monday in Kansas City.

 A red Toyota SUV was southbound from Lindwood Boulevard on The Paseo at 34th Street at a high rate of speed, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez. The SUV struck a parked school bus that was stopped in front of a school.

It is believed, the driver of the Toyota was suffering from a medical emergency. The driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the school bus sustained minor injuries and was treated for soft-tissue damage.  The accident remains under investigation. The name of the Toyota driver has not been released.  There were no students on the bus, according Gunzalez.
