St. Joe man injured in semi, pickup crash

CALDWELL COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 11:30p.m. Saturday in Caldwell County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Chevy Silverado driven by a 49-year-old St. Joseph man was stopped in the crossover on westbound U.S. 36 at NE Nettleton Road four miles east of Hamilton. The driver started across the eastbound lanes and traveled into the path of a 2014 Freightliner semi driven by a 35-year-old Illinois man. The semi struck the pickup on the passenger side front fender. 

Caldwell County EMS transported the pickup driver to Cameron Regional Medical Center. The semi driver was not injured. The pickup driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
