NODAWAY COUNTY —Six people were injured in an accident just before noon Tuesday in Nodaway County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Peterbilt semi driven by a 57-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man was northbound on U.S. 71 three miles east of Burlington Junction. The semi began to turn west onto U.S. 136 and struck the rear of a southbound 2019 Chrysler Pacifica driven by a 30-year-old College Springs, Iowa, woman. After impact the van began to spin and struck a 2005 Buick LeSabre driven by a 37-year-old Burlington Junction man who was stopped at the stop sign eastbound at U.S. 136/ 71.
Nodaway County EMS transported the van driver and passengers in the Chrysler including to two 24-year-old women from Clarinda, iowa and 3 juvenile girls age 5, 3 and 1 to Mosaic in Maryville. There were no other injuries reported. The 24-year-old passengers were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
