KANSAS CITY—Three people including a firefighter were injured at a house fire Monday in Kansas City.
Just after noon, crews responded to a reported house fire in the 5500 block of North Virginia Avenue, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.
The first arriving company reported heavy smoke showing from a two-story house and initiated an offensive fire attack. Two hose lines were advanced into the structure to extinguish the fire, which was placed under control at 12:31 p.m. One firefighter was transported for treatment of an injury.
Two occupants of the home were able to escape the fire and were transported by ambulance to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
