The Kansas City Royals bats were stifled as Los Angeles Angels Reid Detmers pitched eight two hit innings and Nolan Schanuel had an RBI single allowing the Angels to outlast the Kansas City Royals 1-0 at Angel Stadium.

Detmers allowed two hits, no walks and struck out 11 for his first win this year at Angel Stadium. Ben Joyce worked a hitless ninth for his second save this season, sealing Los Angeles' fourth win in five games.  In the eighth inning, Jose Siri came on as pinch-runner after Wade Meckler walked. Siri stole second, and Schanuel brought him home on the go-ahead RBI single.  Nate Pearson fell to 2-1 on the season, giving up the winning run for the Angels.  Royals starter Randy Dobnak worked 5.2 scoreless innings during his start, striking out six and allowing four hits.

Of Kansas City's two hits on the day, Jac Caglianone extended his hitting streak to 13 games going 1-for-3 and stealing a base.

Kansas City and Los Angeles close out their series on Sunday.  Noah Cameron (6-8, 4.45 ERA, 118Ks) starts for the Royals against Ryan Johnson (2-6, 6.71 ERA, 43Ks) for the Angels.  First pitch is at 3:07pm, pregame will air at 2:30pm on KFEQ (680AM/95.3FM).
