For the first time in program history, the Northwest Missouri State baseball team has jumped into the national ranks of the American Baseball Coaches Association's Top 30 Poll.

The Bearcats were ranked #29 in the poll.  Northwest is currently 26-9 overall and 16-5 in the MIAA on the season, sitting second in the MIAA standings behind Rogers State (30-5 overall, 18-3 MIAA) and just ahead of Central Missouri (25-8 overall, 16-6 MIAA).  Northwest is currently splitting the season series with the Mules, with the series finale coming on April 14th.

Northwest joins three other MIAA schools in the ABCA Top 30 poll.  Pittsburg State is currently ranked #6 while Rogers State sits at #9.  Central Missouri, once ranked #7 has fallen in the rankings, but still sits in the Top 20, ranked #16.

The Bearcats will have a big chance coming this week to gain ground in the rankings, and in the MIAA.  Northwest will take on Missouri Western in a single game in St. Joseph tomorrow before starting a three-game road series with #9 Rogers State Thursday in Claremore, Oklahoma.
