KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Law enforcement authorities are investigating another deadly mass shooting in Kansas City.
Just before 10:30p.m. Friday, police were in the area of 18th and Paseo in Kansas City, Missouri, when they heard the sound of gunfire just to the east, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
Officers immediately moved to that area on 19th between Paseo and Vine to check for any victims. Officers located two adult female shooting victims who were conscious and alert.
They further located an adult male shooting victim who was unresponsive. Officers called for EMS who responded to the scene for treatment of the victims. EMS transported the two adult female shooting victims to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening and serious injuries.
EMS pronounced the male shooting victim deceased at the scene. While at the scene officers were notified that 3 additional shooting victims arrived at the hospital via private vehicle. They are an adult female reported to be in stable condition, an adult male reported to be in stable condition, and an adult male reported to be in critical condition.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate. begun their investigation. Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for evidence.
Preliminary information indicates the victims were standing along 19th street between Vine and Paseo when multiple people began shooting in multiple directions. All of the victims appear to have been standing in this vicinity when they were struck by the gunfire.
