
JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a registered Kansas offender on new allegations after a traffic stop.
Just before 3a.m. April 23, a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a GMC Sierra pickup truck in the area of 150th Road and U.S. Highway 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
The driver, Eric Lavon Poole, 49, of Topeka, Kansas, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges that include four counts of aggravated failure to comply with the Offender Registration Act; seven counts of failure to comply with the Offender Registration Act; possession of methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; driving while suspended (third or subsequent conviction); and failure to provide proof of vehicle liability insurance.
Poole has been a registered offender since a conviction for felony heroin distribution.
