Iowa sex offender jailed in Kansas on new allegations

RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a man convicted of sex crimes in Iowa on new allegations in Kansas.

Just before 11a.m. Wednesday, police filed a report for aggravated violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act, Violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act and perjury in the 3000 block of Tonga Street in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Deparatment activity report.

Frank Martinez, 60, of Manhattan was arrested on requested charges of aggravated violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act, Violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act and perjury.  Martinez was issued a bond of $100,000 and remains confined at the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.  Martinez has been listed as a registered sex offender since a  child pornography conviction in Linn County Iowa in 2015, according to the KBI offender registry.
