DEKALB COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 5p.m. Sunday in DeKalb County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2026 Ford F250 driven by a 63-year-old Barnes, Kansas, man was southbound on Interstate 35 one mile north of Cameron. The driver attempted to split the lane between a southbound 2015 Volvo semi and a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica. The pickup struck the Chrysler and the semi.   The pickup then traveled off the west side of the road, struck an embankment, a ditch and overturned. The other two vehicles came to rest on the shoulder of the highway.

Cameron EMS transported the pickup driver to Liberty Hospital. The other drivers were not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
