KANSAS CITY—One person died and four others injured in an accident just before 8:30p.m. Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri.
A black Cadillac Escalade was eastbound on 9th Street approaching Cleveland Street in Kanas City at a high rate of speed, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
The driver failed to negotiate the curve of the roadway. The SUV traveled off the road to the left and struck an unoccupied parked green Chrysler Sebring. The Cadillac continued eastbound through the grass, struck a large tree and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.
EMS transported the driver, front seat passenger and three juvenile rear seat passengers to a local hospital. The front seat passenger was later pronounced deceasd.
This is fatality #30 compared to #24 at this time last year, according to DiMartino.
