KANSAS CITY—One person died in an accident just before 9p.m. Monday in Jackson County, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Honda Accord driven by a 40-year-old Grain Valley man was southbound on South Buckner Tarsney Road at E. Colbern Road. The driver failed to negotiate a curve. The car traveled off the road, struck a tree and caught fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the medical examiner's office. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
