A Tarkio man was injured in a single-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning in Nodaway County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. on U.S. Highway 136, approximately eight miles west of Burlington Junction, during heavy rainfall. Authorities say a 2015 Dodge Ram, driven by a 25-year-old male from Tarkio, was eastbound when the driver lost control.

The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and came to rest in a bean field, upright and facing east.

The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Atchison Holt EMS to Fairfax Community Hospital for treatment.
