PETTIS COUNTY—Two people died in an accident just after 11:30p.m. Tuesday in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a a 1998 Chevy Silverado driven by a 58-year-old Smithton man was eastbound on U.S. 50 just west of Monsees Road. The pickup traveled into the oncoming lane and struck a 2021 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 45-year-old Green Ridge Woman, head-on.
Pettis County Ambulance pronounced both drivers dead at the scene. Both were properly restrained at the time of the crash, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
