Christa Michelle (Ganley) Doherty was born June 8, 1988, in Clarinda, Iowa. She is the daughter of Scott Arnold Ganley and Teresa Michelle (Raines) Ganley and grew up in the New Market/Bedford area. During her time in high school, she ran cross country and track, setting school records at the time. She also kept busy with color guard, band, cheerleading and more. She graduated from Bedford High School in 2006, and she continued her education at Grandview College, receiving her Bachelor of Education degree.
Following her student teaching, Christa decided to change career paths and return to her roots at Hy-Vee, where she had worked in high school and college. With a love of cooking, she enjoyed serving as a catering/deli manager at Hy-Vee for most of her career. She was a hard worker, was loved by her coworkers and always kept things fun.
Christa was known and will be missed for her sense of humor, her sass and for always keeping people on their toes. She was a friend to everybody and knew no strangers.
Preceding Christa in death were her grandfather, Marvin Raines; grandparents, Pete and Geraldine Ganley; aunts, Laura Skidmore and Annette Davis; and cousins, Belinda Rolenc and Alicia Jones.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Scott and Teresa Ganley; sisters, Kellie (Phillip) Marshall of Emerson, Iowa and Maggie (Eamon) Adamson of Omaha, Nebraska; grandmother, Arlene Raines of Stanton; special friend, Brian Webb of Des Moines, Iowa; aunts and uncles, Gloria (Kippy) Compton, Jeff Raines, Marsha (Bruce) Jones and Dee (Steve) Rolenc; her two dogs, Nanny and Roxy; and many friends.
