Martin Schieber, 88, passed away at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri, on July 13, 2025.&nbsp;

Martin was born to Lawrence and Eleanor (Lager) Schieber on August 11, 1936, on the family farm at Conception Junction, Missouri. He grew up in rural Conception Junction, Missouri, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1954.&nbsp;

Martin served in the United States Army at Fort Bliss, Texas. After his honorable discharge on February 15, 1962, Martin returned to Nodaway County where he met and married Betty Shelton on October 24, 1964. He farmed his entire life, first at Ravenwood, Missouri, then, for most of his career, near Pumpkin Center, Missouri.&nbsp;

Martin and Betty raised four children and were blessed with many family moments including vacations, sporting events, farm work, and prayer nights. Martin was particularly fond of teasing those he loved.&nbsp;

Martin was ordained a Permanent Deacon on October 28, 1976, and served at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Maryville, Missouri. Betty and Martin worked on various married couple and family ministries during his diaconate.&nbsp;

Martin was a member of American Legion Post 464 and Knights of Columbus Council 1339. In retirement, Martin and Betty moved to Maryville where Martin enjoyed socializing and golfing with friends.&nbsp;

After a long illness through which Martin cared for her, Betty preceded him in death on January 7, 2014.&nbsp;

Martin was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers JF (Fred), LJ (Butch), Edward and Andrew Schieber, as well as, his sisters Beatrice Rogers and Agnes Welliver.&nbsp;

Martin resided at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri, the last 11 years of his life where he made many friends and was lovingly cared for by the staff who became extended members of his family.&nbsp;

Martin is survived by children: Steve (Kittie Jane), Grand Island, Nebraska; Tim (Traci), Hamilton, Missouri; Julie (Warren) McConkey, Barnard, Missouri; and Marla (Cory) McAlpin, Villisca, Iowa. He is also survived by sisters, Martha (Doug) Copley, Sister Monica Schieber, and sister-in-law Rita Schieber. Additional survivors include Martin’s pride and joy, his grandchildren Johnathan (Tim), Emily, and TJ (Alex) Schieber; Marissa (Matthew) Curran; Matt (Shelby), Michael (Fernanda), Mallory, and Meaghan McConkey; and Wyatt (Kate) and Rylie McAlpin. He is also survived by seven great grandsons whom he adored.&nbsp;

Rosary will be held Friday, July 18th at 6 p.m. followed by visitation until 8 p.m. at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Maryville, Missouri.&nbsp;

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am, Saturday, July 19th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church under the care of Price Funeral Home. Military funeral honors will be presented by American Legion Post 464, and burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Maryville, Missouri.

Samuel Reith Vanfossan, 83, of Barnard, Missouri passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at his home.

Sam was born on December 27, 1941, in Barnard, Missouri to Samuel J. and Marjorie (Reith) Vanfossan. He was a 1959 graduate of South Nodaway High School and worked in computer operations for Mobil Oil in Kansas City. He retired in 1996 and returned to the Barnard area.

Sam was a member of the Barnard Christian Church. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, camping, and for twelve years he and his wife were winter Texans.

He married Joan D. Kelly on December 10, 1960, in Barnard, Missouri, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include their children, Doug (Lauren) Vanfossan, Terri (Jim) McCaffrey; three grandchildren, Samantha Vanfossan (Eric Rupp), Alex (Amber) Vanfossan and Lyle (Alyssa) Vanfossan; brother, Larry (Phyllis) Vanfossan; sister, Teena (Ron) Turnbaugh; sister-in-law, Carolyn Vanfossan and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim Vanfossan and Ron Vanfossan, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Jean Vanfossan.

Mr. Vanfossan has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. Samuel Vanfossan December 27, 1941-July 10, 2025

Clifford Dean “Skeet” Schoonover, the son of George Edward Sr. and Lena Bertha (Erdman) Schoonover, was born May 15, 1935, in Rock Port, Missouri. He attended Rock Port High School.

On December 7, 1956, Skeet was united in marriage to Shirley Marie George at the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port. They enjoyed 68 wonderful years together. They made their home in Rock Port and became parents of one daughter, Stephanie. Shirley passed away in December of 2023.

Skeet was employed in Autobody for Ford until they closed in the late 1980’s. He then was employed by Pfeil’s Autobody and in 1996, Skeet owned and operated Skeet’s Body Shop, retiring in 2017.

Skeet was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially loved spending time with his family. Skeet passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Clarinda, Iowa, at the age of 90.

Besides his parents and wife, Shirley Schoonover, Skeet was preceded in death by siblings, George Schoonover, Jr., Betty Henry, and Shirley Mather. Survivors include daughter, Stephanie (Mark) Hull, Clarinda, Iowa; grandchildren, Amy Roop and Erin (James) Hash, both of Clarinda; nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; siblings, Robert Schoonover and Janice Murry; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Steven Wayne Hunter, the son of Gene and Orma Lee (Dawson) Hunter was born February 17, 1945, in Hamburg, Iowa. Steve attended Rock Port schools graduating in 1963. In March of 1966, Steve entered the United States Airforce Reserves serving his country for six years. Steve farmed in the Rock Port area. Steve loved farm life, raising cattle and row crops.

On December 18, 1976, Steve was united in marriage to Midge Holland, and they became the parents of three children, Joe, Gena, and Jeff. They made their home on the family farm north of Rock Port where their daughter Gena and her family currently live.

Steve was a former board member of the Atchison County Soil Conservation Service, and former president of the Atchison County Rural Water District #1. Steve enjoyed all Missouri sports events and coached Rock Port youth basketball and baseball. He played in several Rock Port slow pitch softball leagues. But Steve’s greatest love was his family, especially his “grandgirls” and “grandson”. He loved being called “Poppy”.

Besides his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Hunter. Survivors include wife, Midge Hunter; son, Joe (Nikki) Hunter, daughter, Gena (Josh) Lloyd and son, Jeff (Ciara) Hunter, all of Rock Port; grandchildren, Jessica Hunter, Jarrett Hunter, Jaylee (Brad) Miller, Ellee Lloyd and Aubrie Hunter; sister-in-law, Lynn Hunter; nephews, Reid (Andrea Carder) Hunter and Jay (Halley) Hunter, all of Rock Port; cousin and “sister I never had”, Karen (Kenny) Thompson, Coin, Iowa; brother-in-law, Bob Wooten, Tarkio, Missouri, who was always willing to help their family, especially the last couple years.

A private family memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date.

Larry D Bottorff, 83, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 in St. Joseph. He was born September 23, 1941, in Maysville, MO, son of Gertrude M and Pliny E Bottorff. He attended Union Star High School, and joined the Army in 1963 through 1969 and did a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1965. &nbsp;Larry was an over-the-road truck driver, working for Crouch Brothers, McLean, MNX, Nestle and retired from Ruan in 2007.&nbsp;

Larry was a member of the Teamsters, Eagles Lodge, Blue Lodge 376, Scottish Rite, Moila, American Legion 359 and attended Wesley United Methodist Church. He spent his retirement enjoying the St Joe Mustangs baseball games with his wife and early morning coffee with his buddies.

Larry was the baby of the family. &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents, 9 brothers and 1 sister - Merwyn, Lloyd, Harold, Dale, Paul, Roy, Helen (Dewey) Glen, Bobbie and Jerry.&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carlene, and his 2 daughters, Deanna (Bill) Wright and Cathy (Les) Grimsinger and his 4 favorite grandchildren, Peyton Wright, Jaden, Myles and Marin Grimsinger and several nieces and nephews.

Janice was born on March 31, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois.

Jan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Savannah and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years throughout her life. &nbsp;She served others volunteering at Mosaic Life Care Hospital. &nbsp;She cherished her friends, RV travel and attending life events with her 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her spouse, Robert O Bauspies, Sr.

Jan is survived by her sister, Kay Paulin (Larry); three children, Robert O. Bauspies, Jr., Laurie Atwood (Kevin) and Melissa Powelson (Jeff); nine grandchildren, Tanya, Lindsey, Carissa (Ben), Micah, Kara (Keegan), and Jacob (Dakota) and ten great-grandchildren, Boone, Cali, Hunter, Jackson, James, Joshua, Kyah, Maddie, Mya and Peyton.

Marijo Conz was born December 10, 1938 in Cave City, Kentucky to Hazel (Morris) and Joe Fleming. She passed away on July 8, 2025 at the Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville, Missouri at the age of 86.

Marijo was united in marriage to Paul Conz on July 1, 1954 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 2010. Marijo worked for United Telephone Company from 1958 until she retired. Marijo was a very active in the Sheridan Christian Church where she truly was part of the church family for many years. She kept everyone in line as to when and where they were to serve each week and month.

Marijo was also preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law.

She is survived by brother, David and wife Betty Fleming of Dexter, Missouri, and sister Martha Ann Goodwin of Hopkinsville, Kentucky as well as nieces, nephews and many friends and church family.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 at the Sheridan Christian Church in Sheridan, Missouri. Burial will be in the Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Maryville, Missouri. Russell Lee Kammerer, 75 of Rosendale, MO passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at a local hospital in St. Joseph. &nbsp;He was born April 15, 1950 in Houston, TX to Oscar Philip &amp; Mabel Darlene (Ferguson) Kammerer. &nbsp;

Russell served in the Army from September 1968 to June 1970, where he earned a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster and two Bronze Stars during his time in Vietnam. &nbsp;Russell loved his family and treasured the time spent with them. &nbsp;He enjoyed many sports such as basketball, softball, and golfing. &nbsp;He also enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. &nbsp;

Survivors include his children, Andrea (Ashley) Schildknecht of Rosendale, MO and Charlie (Haleigh) Kammerer of Meriden, KS; grandchildren, Blake (Jaymi) Barnhart, Austin Barnhart, Megann Schildknecht, Coleson Kammerer, and Lyla Kammerer; brother, Doug Kammerer; nephew, Chris (Nichole) Kammerer; and niece, Leslee (Jason) Manley of Fillmore, MO; great nieces and nephews, family, and friends. Janet Carol Jones, daughter of Perry Egbert and Eva Gray (Greene) Pettingill, was born in Litchfield, Minnesota, on May 8, 1937. She entered into eternal rest surrounded by family in Shenandoah, Iowa, on July 8, 2025, at the age of 88 years and 2 months.

The Pettingill family resided in Litchfield, Minnesota, until Janet was eight years old. At that time, the family moved to Shenandoah, Iowa, and Janet attended school in Shenandoah until she was a junior. It was at the age of 17 that Janet married the love of her life, Darrell Duane Jones at the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. The couple was blessed with the birth of their first daughter, Deb in 1955, and two years later welcomed their second daughter, Linda. The family moved several times but always remained in Shenandoah.

She started working at Earl Mays in the catalog and mail order department but was soon promoted to a supervisor position. She worked in that position until her retirement after 30 years with the company. Janet was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she contributed as part of the choir, the Methodist Women, Bible Studies, and Questers S.S. group. She also served on a funeral committee, and in her earlier years enjoyed playing Bridge.

Being active and involved in her family’s lives was very important to Janet. She enjoyed the time she spent attending family events and her kids/grandkids’ sporting events. Other hobbies included cooking, reading, sewing, singing, and playing golf.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Perry and Eva Pettingill; siblings, Don (Lila) Pettingill, Betty (Lee) Macdonald; and her in-laws, Herbert and Blanche Jones. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 71 years, Darrell Jones; daughters, Deb (Dan) Finlay and Linda (Dale) Magnuson; grandchildren, Vanessa (Dave) Baldwin, Nikki (Joe) Cuva; Michelle (Brian) Blank, Krista (Sergio) Salazar, Kari Armesto; great grandchildren, Macee Lynn Blank (Damian), Wyatt Baldwin, Abby Cuva, Macey Marie Finlay, Zach Cuva, Grace Baldwin, Baylor Blank, Sam Baldwin, Logan Holycross, Brielle Blank, Sahara Magnuson Davis; great-great grandchild, Araya Shane Moore; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Shenandoah, Iowa, on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet relatives and friends with a visitation at the church one hour prior to service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service, with private family burial in the afternoon. Deborah Jane Huntsman went to be with the Lord in her eternal home on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Debbie was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to K.J. “Jerry” and Frances (Brown) Huntsman on November 12, 1951. She loved growing up on the farm just outside of Maitland, Missouri.&nbsp;

Debbie graduated from Nodaway-Holt High School in Graham and then received an associate’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University. She spent most of her career working in the field of mental health, retiring from that position with the State of Missouri at Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center after 28 years of service.

After retiring Debbie started caring for Joanie and Charlotte Gillies while their parents worked, and they became such a joy in her life. She also loved delivering flowers for Village Flowers, later becoming Hy-Vee Flowers by Rob.

Debbie was a member of the Grace Evangelical Church, where she loved giving back to others. She was a member of the Hands of Grace Committee, reaching out to others in the community. Debbie was also on the Singles Repurposed Group Committee. She loved helping with Backpack Buddies through Second Harvest and volunteering at the Noyes Home. Debbie also helped with the Cancer Care Ministry and Pastoral Care Ministry at Grace Evangelical.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Frances Huntsman, as well as many beloved pets.&nbsp;

She is survived by her sister, Kay Huntsman; her brothers, Bill (Dawn) Huntsman and Robert Huntsman; her niece, Tenille Costner; nephew, Lee Costner; great nephews, Derek Holman, Brett Holman, and Leyton Costner; and great nieces, Kristina Holman and Kadence Costner. She loved her family very much!

Billye Sue Belcher, was born to W. Ervin Jr. and Dorothy May Belcher in Maryville, MO on June 29, 1950.

She attended Maryville R II Schools, and graduated with the class of 1968.&nbsp;She attended nursing school at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK., graduating that program in 1971.&nbsp;

She returned to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville and served there 47 years, in nursing, and various administrative roles. She also served as an instructor at the Northwest Technical School of Practical Nursing.

Billye married Ron McCrary Oct 19, 1984 in Miami, OK. She is survived by her husband, Ron of the home, a son, Holt McCrary, and grandchildren; Tinley, Damien and Luna all of Maryville. She is also survived by one brother, Steve and his wife Marianna of Joplin, MO. Sisters-in-law, Rosie Weatherman, and Joyce McCrary of St. Joseph, MO and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Jr. and Dorothy Belcher, her father and mother in-law, Columbus and Marie McCrary, a brother-in-law Jerry McCrary, a sister in-law Dorothy McCrary and one nephew Jason Melnick.

Marylyn J. (LaMar) Robertson, and her husband Franklin G. Robertson passed away in Kansas City. Marylyn passed away June 12, 2025, and her husband, Franklin G. Robertson, passed away June 18, 2025.

Marylyn was born on May 3, 1934, in Maryville to Stephen George and Iola Matilda (Dowden) LaMar.&nbsp;

She graduated from Maryville High School and NW Missouri State, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and English and minored in Spanish. Marylyn earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado. She was a Music Educator for 40 years and retired from the North Kansas City School District. She was an accomplished pianist and taught privately. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Creator of KC Children’s Chorus for the Lyric Opera, Tri Sigma Sorority at NW Missouri State, Board Member of KC Civic Opera Theatre and led the choir performance for Martin Luther King in the 1960’s.

She married Franklin Gordon Robertson on August 18, 1957 in Elmo, Missouri.

Gordon was born on October 25, 1933 in Fillmore, Missouri to Franklin Gordon Robertson, Senior and Ethel (Bowman) Robertson. He was valedictorian of his class.

Gordon was a Band Director for the North Kansas City High School, Music Business Owner, Missouri Bandmaster’s Association, conductor for the KC Community Opera, and worked for the US Postal Service. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from NWMS.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Master of Music from the University of Colorado. He enjoyed travel, civic opera theatre, Italian Opera, band marches, and the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra. He was a gun and military history enthusiast, gem and rock collector. He played trumpet in jazz bands and played for Martin Luther King in the 1960’s.

He served in the US Army and was stationed in Munich 1955–1957 and served in the Missouri National Guard.

Gordon and Marylyn were preceded in death by their parents and Marylyn’s two sisters, Barbara Gromer and Jane Haider.

They are survived by their family, Carol Robertson Royster and Katie Ruiz (daughters), Liam Royster, Gillian Royster, Nicolas and Lissette Ruiz, Ariana Ruiz (grandchildren), Steve Ruiz (son-in-law), Dixie James and Judy Thompson (sisters), Mike Bowman, Susan Fallon, David Bowman, Gaylen Bowman, Martha, Sarah and Robert Stewart (Gordon’s cousins).

Celebration of Life for Marylyn and Gordon will be held at 11am Saturday, July 12th at the Elmo United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at LaMar Cemetery in Elmo, Missouri.&nbsp;

Marylyn J. (LaMar) Robertson, and her husband Franklin G. Robertson passed away in Kansas City. Marylyn passed away June 12, 2025, and her husband, Franklin G. Robertson, passed away June 18, 2025.Marylyn was born on May 3, 1934, in Maryville to Stephen George and Iola Matilda (Dowden) LaMar.&nbsp;She graduated from Maryville High School and NW Missouri State, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and English and minored in Spanish. Marylyn earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado. She was a Music Educator for 40 years and retired from the North Kansas City School District. She was an accomplished pianist and taught privately. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Creator of KC Children’s Chorus for the Lyric Opera, Tri Sigma Sorority at NW Missouri State, Board Member of KC Civic Opera Theatre and led the choir performance for Martin Luther King in the 1960’s.She married Franklin Gordon Robertson on August 18, 1957 in Elmo, Missouri.Gordon was born on October 25, 1933 in Fillmore, Missouri to Franklin Gordon Robertson, Senior and Ethel (Bowman) Robertson. He was valedictorian of his class.Gordon was a Band Director for the North Kansas City High School, Music Business Owner, Missouri Bandmaster’s Association, conductor for the KC Community Opera, and worked for the US Postal Service. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from NWMS.&nbsp;&nbsp;Master of Music from the University of Colorado. He enjoyed travel, civic opera theatre, Italian Opera, band marches, and the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra. He was a gun and military history enthusiast, gem and rock collector. Gerald John Heithoff (Jerry), 80, of Des Moines Iowa, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, in his home with his daughter Jennifer Heithoff by his bedside.

Jerry the son of Marvin and Esther (Schaeuble) Heithoff was born on January 30, 1945, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up on a farm with his 7 brothers and sisters outside of Willey, Iowa. As a youngster and teenager, Jerry was quite active, playing multiple sports competitively as well as a member of the Willey Rockets 4-H Group. He excelled musically and academically, playing the flute, learning Latin, and graduating with honors from Carroll Kuemper in 1963. As a young man, Jerry graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1970 with a degree in accounting. Two years later, in 1972, he earned his CPA. In addition, he served in the Army National Guard.

On November 3, 1973, he was united in marriage to Susan Marie Keller. They lived in multiple cities before settling in Clarinda, Iowa. Throughout Jerry’s time in Clarinda, he was a pillar of the community, serving multiple public and private entities. During summers, Jerry was a fixture in the Clarinda sports community and could be seen regularly around the ball fields playing softball, coaching youth sports, and cheering the Clarinda A’s.

In his older adult years, Jerry was the cornerstone of what he loved more than anything…his grandchildren. Whether it was teaching the grandkids about farm animals to grabbing a ball glove and ball to play catch, Jerry was an idolized grandpa.

Jerry is survived by his stepson, Westley Scott Anson; daughter Jennifer Anne Heithoff; and son Steven (Adrianne) Andrew Heithoff. Jerry’s immediate extended family includes granddaughters Tandi (Seth) Marie Edwards and Raeven Cymone Anson; and grandsons Malik Xavier Moore, Tyrese Alfonza Moore, Xavier John Moore, Oliver Zander Heithoff, and Elliot Zephyr Heithoff.

His surviving siblings include David (Marcia) Heithoff of Harrison, Arkansas; Denis (Laurel Jean) Heithoff of Willey, Iowa; Mary Jane Heithoff of Omaha, Nebraska; Morrie (Pat) Heithoff of Manning, Iowa; Louise Dalrymple of Omaha; Julie Heithoff of Omaha; Jane Heithoff of Willey; and his many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Heithoff; mother, Esther (Schaeuble) Heithoff; brother, Allen Heithoff; brother-in-law, Mike Dalrymple; and brother, Myron Heithoff.

Beulah "Bee" LaVerle (McAdams) Cook, daughter of Carl L. and Betty D. (Peterson) McAdams, was born on March 31, 1944, in Logan, Iowa. She entered into eternal rest at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, Iowa, on July 6, 2025, at the age of 81.

She graduated from Logan High School in 1962, the last year before Logan consolidated with Magnolia. After graduation she attended Commercial Extension in Omaha, Nebraska. Bee's first job was in accounting at Omaha Beauty, then a space was carved out to raise two of her three children, Bill Todd and Patricia Gayle. After that, Bee lived in Arkansas, and moved back to Shenandoah, Iowa, where she resided for the remainder of her life. She married Bob Cook in August 1984 and would have celebrated 41 years of marriage.

Bee preferred to be outside working with her flowers and yard. However, she also worked at H&amp;R Block and on the off season she worked on the then Congressman, Jim Lighfoot's campaign. As another side job, she worked at Central Survey until she retired. A funny story about her retirement, she had gone to Bob and asked if she could retire. He told her yes, as soon as the house and car were paid off, thinking that her retirement would be put off for several more years. Unbeknownst to him, she proceeded to go to the credit union, withdrew the money, paid off the car and house, and retired! It is a story that Bob laughs about while telling the guys he worked with, this skirmish the flowers won.

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law; two of her children, Bill Todd and Kristin Dyane; sister and brother-in-law, Louella (William) Snodgrass; and cousin, Sharon Leonard. She is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter, Patty (Terry) Brown; granddaughter, Taryn; special aunt, Florence Peterson; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

After retirement, Bob learned to cherish his wife and the things she did so skillfully to manage a household. She always told him, "A man works from dawn to dusk, but a woman's job is never done." Bob admits that he was never good at multi-tasking, but if he had it all to do over again, he would definitely do it all over again. Bee never knew a stranger and people loved talking to her.

Services are pending. Memorials may be directed to the Shenandoah Public Library, the Paralyzed Veterans of America, or the donor's choice.&nbsp;

Evelyn A. Scadden-Berg, 91, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Maryville Living Center.

Evelyn was born on November 11, 1933, to Wesley Cleaver Spoonemore and Jessie Jane (Messner) Spoonemore McFarland. She attended school in Parnell, Missouri and was a homemaker, member of the First United Methodist Church in Parnell and the American Legion Auxiliary.

On July 3, 1949, she was united in marriage to Clinton “Jack” Scadden in Ravenwood, Missouri. They farmed west of Parnell, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1988. She was also preceded by her parents, and seven siblings, LaVeta Jones, Von Ceile Parman, Georgia Russell, Marcella Giesken, Estel Owens, Charles Spoonemore and Frankie Caldwell, daughter, Diane Scadden and son, Timothy Scadden.&nbsp;

Evelyn leaves behind her son, Terry Lee (Shoney) Scadden; grandchildren, Sonny (Mindy) Scadden and Sheldon (Christy) Scadden; five great-grandchildren, Kolby, Kaden, Kyler, Wyatt, and Rylee Scadden.

On July 7, 1990, she married Alfred Berg, who also preceded her in death on October 11, 2003. She leaves behind two stepdaughters, Pamela Auffert and Tammy Jackson; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Deborah Allison Rhoades, the daughter of Wesley D. and Beverley E. (Barton) Slemp was born November 10, 1951, in Maryville, Missouri. She attended Fairfax High School, Fairfax, Missouri, graduating in 1969. Debbie then attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville for one year.

On January 4, 1970, Debbie was united in marriage to Vernon F. Rhoades at the First Presbyterian Church, Fairfax. They became the parents of two children, Sandy and Tracy. Vernon passed away in 2020.

Debbie was a homemaker and caregiver before being employed by the Fairfax Factory and Fairfax Laundry. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fairfax, serving as a Sunday School teacher, a Deacon, and an Elder. She also helped the church by doing video graphics.

Debbie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and word searches. She loved writing poems and had several published. Debbie passed away Monday, July 7, 2025, Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville, at the age of 73.

Besides her parents and husband, Vernon, Debbie was preceded in death by infant daughter, Tracy Lynn Rhoades. Survivors include daughter, Sandra Michelle Rhoades, Maryville; brother, Douglas (Jutta) Slemp, Fairfax; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawrence Neil Marsh, 92, Bethany, MO, went to be with Jesus in the early morning hours on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at a Bethany, MO nursing home.

He was born on May 30, 1933, in Ridgeway, MO, the son of Sheldon “Shack” and Sylvia (Cook) Marsh. He had four brothers named Virgil, Lee, Alvin, and Floyd Marsh, and five sisters named Emma Lee (Osmon), Nada (Oxford), Betty (Isakson), Dorothy (King), and Mary Ann. He had two stepbrothers from Sheldon’s previous marriage named Wick and Morway.

Lawrence had two stepchildren by a previous marriage, Chris who is now deceased and Dwight Schell.

He worked as a janitor for South Harrison High School until his retirement. Lawrence loved to garden during retirement as long as his health allowed and liked to drive around the countryside. During his younger days, he also like to fox hunt and coon hunt.

Lawrence leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will with Military Rites will follow in Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway, MO.
