Larry Francis Dack, 81 of Ravenwood, MO, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, surrounded by his family at KU Medical Center. Larry was born on January 23, 1945, to Vester and Gwendolyn Dack in Maryville, MO. He always got a kick out of telling people when his birthday was (1,2,3,4,5).
Larry graduated from Ravenwood High School in 1963. He was drafted into the Army in 1965 and proudly served for two years.
He married Donna Black on May 4, 1968, who he always said was the prettiest girl in Nodaway County. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville MO with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1972, while working part-time at Price Funeral Home. Everyone heard a lot of stories of his time riding in the ambulance with his father-in-law. He then went to work for Armour Foods until 1979 when he moved back to the family farm. In 1981 he started at Standard Oil Company, which changed to Amoco then later became BP Pipeline. He stayed there for 24 years until he retired in 2005. During that time, he farmed alongside Donna and his kids. He was a member of the Curry-Richardson-Sparks-Waldeier American Legion Post # 528 where he served on the Military Funeral Honors Flag Program.
Larry enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, farming, welding and making various sculptures out of his shop. He would often go off piddling around the farm with his dog Bear in the basket on the back of his four-wheeler. Above all else, Larry loved spending time with the kids and grandkids and was always going to all of their basketball, soccer and baseball games.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, kids, Valerie Dack, Shelly Brown (Rob), Aaron Dack (Stephanie), and grandchildren, McKenzie Salcedo, Cadin and Ethan Roush, Lane and Drew Dack. Sister-in-law, Karen Dack, Aunt, Margaret Dack and cousin, Randy Dack (Laurie).
