Colleen K. Mann, 78, of Urbandale, Iowa, and formerly of Farragut, Iowa, entered into eternal rest at Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa, on Monday, January 19, 2026.
Colleen Kay Mann, daughter of Elwin Day and Ruth Alaine (Jones) Kish, was born in Hamburg, Iowa, on March 8, 1947. She entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2025, at Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa, at the age of 78.
Her early life was spent growing up in Riverton, Iowa. She graduated from Farragut High School in 1965 and went on to attend Northwest Missouri State University where she graduated with a BS in elementary education and music education. Her first teaching job was teaching elementary music in Goldfield, Iowa, until 1973 when she married, James Curtis Mann. The couple moved to Carroll, Iowa, and she taught in Denison, Iowa, from 1973 – 1996. They then moved to Oklahoma and then back to Burlington, Iowa, where she taught for one year. After retiring from teaching, Colleen worked at McDonalds until 2012.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. Colleen enjoyed playing organ at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll, Iowa, while they lived there. Music was always a passion of Colleen’s, but she also enjoyed golfing, baking, and more than anything else, being with her family and her grandkids.
Preceding her in death were her husband, James Curtis Mann, and her parents, Elwin and Ruth Kish. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Angie Spencer and husband Mike; son, Andy Mann; three grandchildren, Dayna, Brooke and Maxon Spencer; sisters-in-law, Judy Jeske, Jane Halbach, Joan Zanders and Donna Mann; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at The Waterfalls in Farragut, Iowa, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet relatives and friends with a visitation at The Waterfalls prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Pastor Noel Gandy will be officiating the service. Inurnment will be at Farragut Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for designation.
