Marylee Joy VanSickle, 96, of Maryville, MO, passed from this life on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Oak Pointe of Maryville.
She was born in Gentry, MO on July 23, 1929 to Curtis DeWitt Steele and Jewel (Jones) Steele. She graduated from Horace Mann High School in Maryville. She worked at Robbins Lightning Protection where she met Harold Gayle VanSickle, Jr. They were wed on February 9, 1952.
Marylee was a stay at home mom and a Boy Scout leader until she and Harold purchased A/C Lightning Security, Inc. and she went to work as a bookkeeper. She loved to play bridge, travel, watch her children and grandchildren play sports, bowled in league for years, was aKansas City baseball fan and a Bearcat Football fan.
She was preceded in death by Harold, her parents; brother, Wade Steele; sister, Marjorie Wheeler; and son-in-law, Kurby Weldon.
Marylee is survived by her children, Harold “Bud” (Pam) VanSickle, Vickie Weldon, and Sheri (Bryan) Twaddle, all of Maryville; 9 grandchildren, Ryan (Chelsea) VanSickle, Charlotte, NC, Michael VanSickle, Maryville, Derek VanSickle, Austin, TX, Adam (Sherra) Weldon, Maryville, Amy Weldon, Maryville, Will (Amanda) Twaddle, Maryville, Blair (Mollie Holtman) Twaddle, Liberty, MO, Matt (Kori) Twaddle, Kansas City, MO and Brooke Twaddle, Kansas City, MO. 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She has been cremated and her visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm on March 14th 2026 at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville MO., followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm. The burial will follow the service at Nodaway Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Maryville or to the Maryville Public Library.
